For 150 years, the Mauritson Family Winery has been growing grapes in the Dry Creek Valley. Six generations later and they are still doing what they do best. Their winemaking facility opened back in 2004 and welcomes visitors to tour and taste daily. Clay Mauritson sure knew what he was doing back in 1990 when he returned from college and followed his dream back to the vineyards. The Mauritson family Winery is just a quick 5-minute drive from the Honor Mansion.

Stop by the Mauritson Tasting Room
The Tasting Room at the vineyard is open daily. Groups of less than 6 can enjoy a flight of limited production releases without scheduling an appointment. Each guest will also learn more about the history of the vineyard from a vineyard host. You can also opt for a more exclusive experience, like a private seated tasting or tour when you make prior reservations to visit.
For a more relaxed experience, you can choose to unwind with a glass of wine at their large picnic area too. Even dogs are welcome to come along for the day!
From Zinfandel to Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Rosé, Mauritson makes a variety of beautiful wines. These wines showcase the fruit-forward, floral and spice-driven characteristics attributed to these appellations. When it comes to Rockpile Wine, Mauritson Winery is the largest producer. Rockpile has proven ideal for the development of their 10 distinctly different hillside vineyards. Their LOAM single soil wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and 100% identical clone and rootstock. Lastly, the wineries Charlie Clay Pinot Noir is made from grapes grown in the Russian River Valley that Chef Charlie Palmer and Clay Mauritson collaborated on.
Public Special Event at Mauritson Winery
Mauritson Winery hosts ONE event open to the public in August. This event is known as Project Zin, which takes place at Hotel Healdsburg. The Project Zin event pairs Mauritson Zinfandel wine with food from Chef Charlie Palmer with proceeds benefiting the Down Syndrome Association North Bay.
