Enjoy an Afternoon at the Beautiful Jordan Vineyards

Overlooking 1,200 acres of rolling hills and vineyards, Jordan Winery in Sonoma County, California, has been raising the bar for wine in the United States since 1972. Founders Tom and Sally Jordan were inspired by the great wineries of France and decided to create an extraordinary winemaking chateau in Alexander Valley, complete with guest suites, kitchens, and dining areas. Today, the Jordan’s award-winning wines and exceptional hospitality have made their winery one of the most acclaimed destinations in California wine country – and it’s just minutes from the Honor Mansion! The next time you’re in Healdsburg, spend an afternoon at Jordan Vineyards and discover what makes this winery so special.

What You’ll See at Jordan Vineyards & Winery

The Property

Featuring 112 acres of grapevines, 18 acres of olive trees, and various gardens, lakes, and pastures, the grounds of Jordan Estate are a sight to behold. More than three-quarters of the estate has been preserved as natural habitat, where geese and ducks swim in the lakes, rabbits and turkeys roam the fields, and century-old oak trees pepper the landscape. Guests can take a guided tasting tour of the estate grounds and admire the scenic vistas and sprawling countryside, all while enjoying samples of current release wines, estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and gourmet food pairings from the estate’s chef. Available May through October, this unique Healdsburg wine tour is the perfect way to experience Jordan Vineyards.

The Wine

Since 1976, winemaker Rob Davis has hand-crafted every Jordan vintage and has set the standard for winemaking innovation and advancement in Northern California. It’s his dedication and understanding of the area’s unique terroir that has made Jordan famous for their Cabernet Sauvignon, which features the same silky complexity found in the Bordeaux wines of France, and their fruity Chardonnay, which has a subtle minerality similar to the grand cru whites of Burgundy. Guests can pair each French-inspired wine with delicious local cheeses during a private library tasting, or take a winery tour & tasting and explore the iconic chateau which features a cobblestone terrace and historic oak tank room.

The Food

Jordan Vineyards also invites guests to enjoy incredible dishes that pair perfectly with their renowned wines. Each day, Executive Chef Todd Knoll strolls the gardens and draws inspiration from hundreds of flowers, fruits, and vegetables to create his menus. The estate’s garden features over 20 types of heirloom tomatoes, eight varieties of melons, seven types of carrots, and much, much more, and all of their meats, cheeses, and seeds are imported from local purveyors and farmers in Sonoma County. Guests can enjoy decadent dishes like white asparagus salad and Hawaiian red snapper at various winery tours, tastings, and events.
