Planning a trip to Wine Country this fall? Be sure to register for the Hallowine Run! This Halloween-themed race celebrates the end of the grape harvest and is held in Healdsburg, California, each October. Participants can enter a costume contest, win awards, and enjoy wine-tasting, food, live music, and more. The race always sells out early, so grab your friends and get ready to run! Here are some things you should know about the Hallowine Run.
Get Excited for the Hallowine Run!
The stunning 13-mile race course starts at Francis Ford Coppola Winery and finishes at the Warm Springs Recreation Area below Lake Sonoma. Winding through the renowned Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys, runners can admire the autumn-colored vineyards and enjoy the warm sunshine. Registration for this event is limited to a certain amount of runners! This event is more exclusive because of its commitment to minimizing the impact it has on this beautiful area, and because it wants to provide guests with a quality experience. Feel free to download a course map and view the scenic route ahead of time!
Several aid stations and one wine stop are located on the course. Water and GU Hydration Drinks are provided at each aid station. Red and white wines from local wineries will also be offered at the on-course wine stop. Be sure to visit the wineries after the race and relax with a full glass too!
Post-Race Wine & Music Festival
Once you cross the finish line, celebrate your achievement at the Wine & Music Festival! Enjoy drinks from over 20 wineries and local breweries, live music, food, and kids activities. This event is open to guests so bring your friends and family! There will also be an awards ceremony and a finisher’s celebration. Be sure to check the marathon website for a full list of weekend events.
Hallowine 5K or 10K
If you’re not ready to take on the Half Marathon, you can still participate in the festivities by running other distances! These other race lengths will start at select wineries or landmarks before merging into the half marathon course. Be sure to wear your best Halloween costume – prizes will be awarded and the post-race Wine & Music Festival!
